MENTORING PORTFOLIO
I often got kicked out of the classroom for talking too much (no shock to anyone who knew me then or knows me now) but it was a blow to my spirit for I did love talking to people.
So from the age of 10, rather than sit and wallow in the cold school corridors, I made good use of my time. With my desk and chair all set up, I encouraged the other kids in the classroom to come outside and visit me. When they did, I kind of went in to theatrical mode saying "Welcome to my Wisdom Office, tell me your problems and let me help you". Whilst my Wisdom Office started out as a bit of fun, it was interesting to see how it grew in to something really valuable. The kids started revealing more personal problems and I genuinely enjoyed listening to them and sharing from my heart what steps I thought would help them.
Almost 25 years later, I had the opportunity to 'mentor' another friend. He came to me for help and advice in taking his book and creative ideas to the business world. He loved what I shared with him so much that he encouraged me to embrace my natural mentoring talents and mentor anyone who would love to create their everyday dreams.
And so I did... For the past seven years I have mentored an enormous and varied range of people to create their dreams and goals. From actors and artists, to writers, to company directors and film directors, to mothers, to designers, to new business start ups, to publicists, to photographers and cinematographers, to self development and HR professionals and more...
